Following a competition run through social media, two fans of the free mobile game, Auction Wars: Storage King, have had their likenesses recreated and now appear as characters in the game. The two new characters are available in the latest version of the game, which also sees the addition of some entirely new features.
PRLog - March 19, 2015 - LIVERSEDGE, U.K. -- The makers of chart topping mobile game Auction Wars: Storage King, have recently released a new update. The update was much anticipated by the fans of the game that follow the Facebook page of the game’s developer, GameDigits Ltd. Among other improvements, this latest version sees the addition of two brand new characters, each of whose likenesses are based directly on those of the lucky winners of a competition run through social media to star in the game.
For those still unfamiliar, Auction Wars: Storage King takes its cue from popular reality television shows. The player steps into the shoes of a buyer at a storage auction, and bids money to uncover hidden loot and hopefully win big. In the game they come up against some stiff competition from rival bidders. Two of those rival bidders are fresh faced newcomers, in the form of Chrissie and Pepe; the two competition winners who have had their likenesses recreated and now play a starring role in the game.
Ian Lindsey, Managing Director of GameDigits Ltd., commented “We have a great community behind Auction Wars, and there’s always a buzz of activity on our company Facebook page. We ran a similar competition last year and there was a lot of interest, so it made sense to do it again. It’s nice to be able to do something like this, I think it’s a really cool thing to be able to make the fans of the game an actual part of the game.”
As well as welcoming Chrissie and Pepe, the update also adds more items for the player to collect, and brand a new feature in the form of in-game boosters. The boosters give the player extra powers; such as X-Ray vision, or the ability to call on an expert to get a clearer valuation of the items up for grabs. The skillful player can use these powers to help them take home the treasure and make a tidy sum.
