Siemens Opens Oil & Gas Headquarters in Houston

At a City Hall meeting today with Houston Mayor Annise Parker, Siemens Managing Board member Lisa Davis announced the opening of Siemens’ new Oil & Gas Headquarters in Houston – serving the global Oil & Gas sector from the “Energy Capital of the World”. Davis, who leads Siemens’ oil and gas and power generation businesses, will be based in the West Memorial Drive office in Houston’s Energy corridor as will Siemens’ Oil & Gas and Marine Business Unit.

“Our Houston location is critical for Siemens’ long-term growth as it brings us closer to upstream, midstream and downstream customers,” said Davis. “Siemens’ expertise in automation, electrical systems, data analytics, and service combined with our existing portfolio, including Rolls-Royce industrial aero-derivative gas turbines, and our agreement to acquire Houston-based Dresser-Rand, fortifies our position as the most complete, end-to-end rotating equipment and process automation provider in the market today.”

“Siemens is a great corporate partner and we welcome this addition to the energy corridor,” said Mayor Parker. “It represents strengthening of the company’s already very broad involvement in the Houston region. We feel the Siemens impact in everything from the well-paying jobs that keep our economy strong to the sustainable technologies that are helping to improve the environment and quality of life.”

Davis continued: “Nearly 2,000 Siemens employees work in the Houston area, including more than 300 veterans, and we are pleased to be an active corporate citizen and technology provider to the city and the greater Houston community.”

Siemens’ technologies can be found in projects across the city. Siemens provided Houston’s first light rail system, supplied building control systems at NRG Park and the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, replaced over 10,000 traffic and pedestrian signals with LED technology, and led Houston’s Energy Efficiency Building Retrofit program involving 5.5 million square feet of facilities as well as upgrades to the city’s parks and sports fields.
