The international campaign dubbed the “singing revolution for the planet” is preparing for the UN Climate Talks in Paris later this year. One Earth. One Voice. kicks off its 2015 campaign with a special event on Earth Day, April 22nd,from 4-6pm EST to reveal a new symbolic glass globe that will travel on foot to the talks. The globe was designed for the campaign by James Murray at Simon Pearce, an American company known for its handcrafted glass and farm to table dining. The globe will be unveiled at the Simon Pearce flagship in Quechee in a campaign kick-off reception from 4-6pm which is open to the public. The globe will be presented to the United Nations as a gift from concerned citizens around the world.

The campaign gained international recognition in 2012 through a journey around the world by founder, international classical singer Shyla Nelson. Nelson carried a 14’”-diameter symbolic glass globe in her arms over 99-days, touching six continents and rallying a global choir in the millions through social media to sing a song in synchrony, raising environmental awareness.

Months after her return, the original globe, which had been held by thousands including street children in Africa and Sir Richard Branson, shattered in an accident. “It was the perfect metaphor for our campaign’s message about the fragility of the Earth,” Nelson said. “But as we are a campaign of hope, we couldn’t let the story end there.”

Having reached over 400 million people worldwide with its flagship initiative, the One Earth. One Voice. campaign is planning a symbolic walk to the UN Climate Talks. The walk will be 193-km in length in honor of the 193 member nations of the UN General Assembly, calling for urgent climate action by the UN and the ratification of a resolution toward that end. The new glass globe will be carried by Nelson and others along the entire route.

The campaign has teamed up with leading music mobile app company, Smule. Participants around the world will be able to join the One Earth. One Voice. choir through their app "Sing!" in conjunction with Smule's network of 125 million members worldwide. “It’s a great partnership for a great cause,” says Nelson. “We hope to create the largest virtual choir in history, for the future of the planet.” The song, globe, and resolution will be presented in Paris at the United Nations during the climate talks.

The launch event on April 22nd will be live web-streamed from 4-6pm through the campaign's website.

Space is limited at the event. Call 802.295.2711 to join the guest list. For more information, visit www.oneearth-onevoice.org
