ITT’s BIW Connector Systems Brand Introduces New High-Temperature Wellhead Penetrator System at ESP Workshop 2015

ITT Corporation (NYSE:ITT) and its BIW Connector Systems brand will introduce a new high-temperature wellhead penetrator system for extreme temperature applications at the Electric Submersible Pump (ESP) workshop, booth 50-52, April 22-24 in The Woodlands, Texas.

Metal-Lok Ultra with k-PaC Technology comprises a completely redesigned wellhead penetrator and an advanced design downhole connector suitable for use in temperatures of up to 500 degrees Fahrenheit/260 degrees Celsius and pressures of up to 3000 psi. The system allows electrical power to pass safely and reliably to submerged pumps through the well pressure barrier while withstanding extreme temperature applications.

“This new technology represents the next generation of penetrator systems, capable of functioning successfully in the hottest wells,” said John Dutil, general manager of ITT’s Interconnect Solutions Oil & Gas business unit. “BIW has employed innovative thinking and a fresh approach in developing this system to enable continuous performance and long lifetimes in harsh production applications such as steam-assisted gravity drainage.”

Metal-Lok Ultra with k-PaC Technology works at extreme temperatures previously unprecedented for penetrator systems. With the use of this technology, production operations such as steam-assisted gravity drainage can explore techniques that deliver higher production and higher profitability with confidence. Successful trials have already been completed with positive results.

BIW’s patented k-PaCTechnology is also debuting at ESP 2015 along with the Prestafamily of mechanical splices. Metal-Lok Ultra with k-PaC Technology offers ease of installation and use and is completely compatible with BIW’s existing line of high-temperature and surface connectors. It joins BIW’s existing line of Metal-Lok and Metal-Lok High Temp electrical feedthru systems.

For more than 40 years, BIW Connector Systems has connected the world to energy sources in some of the harshest conditions on Earth, helping energy companies meet the growing demand of their global customers. Our products provide reliable electrical penetration through well barriers and ensure the high performance and safe operation of submerged electrical pumps.
