Bring Out the Good Month Inspires Allstate Agent, Christine Angles, partners with former NFL Cheerleaders to build awareness about domestic violence and financial abuse
PRLog - May 13, 2015 - MANASSAS, Va. -- Manassas Allstate Insurance Agent Christine Angles recognized Terri Lamb, President of the Washington Redskins Cheerleaders Alumni Association for her support of domestic violence awareness, presenting Lamb with a purple purse designed by Kerry Washington at Evo Bistro in McLean.

The purse presented to Lamb was one of 500 limited-edition purple purses, designed for Allstate Foundation Purple Purse. Over the past year the purses have been distributed among community leaders, celebrities and media to raise awareness for this important cause. The purple purse represents the center of a woman’s financial domain and purple is the color of national domestic violence awareness.

Terri Lamb was a Redskinette from 1979-1983, was a Captain of the Redskinettes (former name of the Washington Redskins Cheerleaders), and performed in Super Bowl XVII and XVIII.  Lamb encourages both the Washington Redskins Cheerleaders Alumni Association and the National Football Cheerleaders Association to support domestic violence intervention through Purple Purse.

More than just home insurance and car insurance, Allstate agents and employees have a proud history of putting their good hands to work in supporting Virginia communities, promoting volunteerism and providing financial resources to enable local organizations to help others.  Angles is involved in the community, securing a $1000 Allstate Agents Hands in the Community Grant for  ACTS Turning Points Domestic Violence Intervention, Prince William County’s only domestic violence support organization. She is also taking advantage of Allstate’s Bring Out the Good Month during which Allstate is matching 15% of every dollar its agents and employees donate to eligible 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations.

In an endeavor to raise money for nonprofits that provide domestic violence and economic empowerment services, The Allstate Foundation has built a program through Purple Purse to help organizations across the country raise money and build awareness for their efforts.

The Allstate Foundation Purple Purse is a domestic violence awareness program that has empowered domestic violence survivors with resources, knowledge, and skills they need to achieve financial empowerment and life free from abuse. Since its inception a decade ago, the program has helped nearly half a million domestic violence survivors leave abusive relationships through financial education, job training and readiness, and microenterprise programs.
