In an economy where it’s tough to find a job even with a college degree, there are still a few places left where workers can earn a livable wage job without having earned that college diploma. As it turns out, three of those places are in southern Nevada, as reported by award winning Re/Max Agent Leslie Hoke from her Las Vegas mega real estate website and blog Homes By Leslie. Ms. Hoke says, figures published by Movoto.com which ranked the top ten cities to live with no degree, ranked North Las Vegas and Henderson, NV numbers one and two with Las Vegas coming in at number seven.
“Southern Nevada’s economy has always been built on gaming and tourism, so it comes as no surprise that there are jobs that pay decent wages that do not require a degree,” said long-time Vegas realtor Leslie Hoke.
Movoto.com created the list utilizing data from the United States Census, Center for Disease Control (CDC), and the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). They looked at three metrics including non-degreed persons with health insurance, non-degreed persons that were employed, and the average annual salaries of people with no degree.
