HM King Mohammed VI, Commander of the Faithful, donated, on Friday, May 29, in Bissau, 10,000 copies of the Holy Quran to the authorities in charge of managing religious affairs in Guinea Bissau.
The donation was made following the Friday Prayer which the Sovereign performed in the Attadamoun mosque in Bissau accompanied by the Speaker of Guinea-Bissau's National Assembly.
Issued by the Mohammed VI Foundation for the publishing of the Holy Quran, the donated copies will be distributed in different mosques across Guinea-Bissau.
The donation is part of the implementation of Royal High Instructions to meet the needs mosques in West Africa of the Holy Quran according to the recitation of Warsh from Nafi that is adopted in Morocco and western African countries.
HM King Mohammed VI, accompanied by Guinea-Bissau's president José Mario Vaz, also handed, on Friday at the National Simao Mendes Hospital in Bissau, a royal donation made of consignments of medicines and medical-technical equipment for the Guinea-Bissau's national anti-AIDS secretariat (SNLS).
The royal donation offered by the Mohammed VI Foundation for Sustainable Development is part of laudable initiatives by HM the King who is tirelessly striving to bestow a human aspect on Morocco's solidarity with the continent's countries and south-south cooperation.
On this occasion, technical data on the components of this donation were given to HM the King and the Bissau-Guinean president.
This royal donation is composed of over two tons of medicines to treat AIDS-related diseases and infections.
It comprises also a batch of 3.5 tons of medical-technical equipment for diagnosis, including radiology material, monitoring medical material (ICU), mother/child medical material and laboratory material, as well as 4.5 tons of medical fungible (consumable and suture products for surgical use ).
