School Newspapers Online names ‘Best of Best’ student journalism

PRLog - June 14, 2015 - BURNSVILLE, Minn. -- Best of SNO, the website dedicated to showcasing quality student reporting from schools in the SNO network, released a list this week announcing their top student news picks of 2014-15.

The list, “Best of Best of SNO,” honors 22 stories (from as many schools) in categories ranging from “Best Sports Coverage” to “Best Use of Innovative Design.” While many of the stories recognized tackle complex and challenging topics, some--like the “Logan Aimone Best Critter Profile,” named after Best of SNO’s creator--are more lighthearted. However, all stories stand out as exceptional in their respective categories.

“All of the winning pieces were extremely captivating and well-written,” said Ali Catt, who curates the Best of SNO website. “They all got under my skin somehow...I could tell that the students who wrote them were really passionate about journalism.”

The winning stories were selected from the nearly 700 published on the Best of SNO website this year. In turn, those 700 were chosen from over 2200 student-submitted stories, making the “Best of Best” awards all the more prestigious.
