UPDATE 1-Israel to let US-led consortium keep control of biggest offshore gas field

JERUSALEM, June 30 (Reuters) - Israel plans to leave its biggest offshore natural gas project, Leviathan, in the hands of a U.S.-Israeli consortium while opening the industry up to more competition, under a proposal announced on Tuesday.
