When asked about Kia’s tech offerings, Renee Stephens, vice president of U.S. automotive quality for J.D. Power and Associates, said that the automaker is “getting it right.”
Surveys of more than 84,000 buyers and lessees of new 2015 vehicles contributed to the 2015 Initial Quality Study. Surveys were given only after 90 days of ownership, ensuring that drivers had plenty of time to get acquainted with their new vehicles, making Kia’s ascent in the rankings that much more impressive.
Kia also bucked a significant trend. In most cases, automakers fall in the rankings in years when they launch new vehicles — but Kia’s rise coincided with the release of the redesigned 2015 Sedona.
