Novato, CA based company Instaledge, has stated that they will be debuting their innovative new skateboarding product on Kickstarter in mid-August. The product has been designed to allow skateboarders to perform grinds and slides on smooth metal surfaces while protecting the ledge itself from getting damaged. It is a fully portable device that can fit onto any straight ledge. It comes in two separate four foot sections that can seamlessly snap together in just a few seconds. It is hoped that skaters all over the country will enjoy it to perfect their tricks while preventing damage at the same time. "Grinding and other tricks are some of the most basic and also the most complicated skateboarding moves around," says Gene Walt from Instaledge. "Any good skater is able to perform them, but that means they have to practice. Unfortunately, grinding in particular has the potential to cause significant damage to the ledges, which is also dangerous for the skater. Thanks to our device, both skater and the ledge itself are fully protected."
The staff at Instaledge are all skaters themselves and they have been testing a number of the prototypes to see just how well they work.
