Dan Gamel's Foursquare Anywhere Now Integrates With Grapevine E-F&I

Gamel's flagship product, an interactive foursquare called My Foursquare Anywhere was launched earlier this year. Now he has a second product Foursquare Anywhere DMS that has been successfully integrated with Data Consultants' e-F&I system.

After a slow start, the vehicle sales industry is now moving quickly to embrace mobile technology. Industry veteran Dan Gamel said, “If you are not training your sales professionals to use their mobile devices during the selling process you are missing out.”

Gamel’s flagship product, an interactive foursquare called My Foursquare Anywhere was launched earlier this year. Now he has a second product Foursquare Anywhere DMS that has been successfully integrated with Data Consultants’ e-F&I system, Grapevine. In addition, Gamel is working towards integrating Foursquare Anywhere with other dealer management systems. “We wrote an API that allows us to integrate with any DMS or F&I system,” said Gamel.

From the sales person’s point of view, both products function essentially the same in that they make the negotiating process easier, faster, and more transparent for the buyer. Both tools work by establishing the value of a trade using both KBB and NADA guides, structuring the deal with an interactive foursquare, revising the deal with customer’s input, submitting the offer to the desk manager, getting quick responses, and getting the paperwork for sale generated more quickly. Gamel stressed that with Foursquare Anywhere all the negotiation can be done during a demo ride. “When they drive back on the lot, the paperwork is ready for signing,” he said.

Bill Pardini, President and CEO of Data Consultants, said that integrating Foursquare Anywhere with their F&I system was a natural step. “We were one of the first F&I software providers in the late 70's and early 80's. It just makes sense that we would be the first to integrate a mobile product with our F&I system.” He explained that the younger generation of auto purchasers and sales professionals use their mobile devices for everything. “Why wouldn’t they be attracted to purchasing their auto, boat, or RV with a mobile-device tool that integrates with a DMS so all the data is pulled quickly and correctly?”

Gamel sites a recent survey conducted by Auto Trader of 4002 auto purchasers who were asked the question, "Did you like or dislike the buying process you were exposed to when you bought your last auto?” Just 17 car buyers gave the process a thumbs-up. The same survey revealed that more than 80% of today's vehicle purchasers do their homework online prior to visiting a dealership. Once at the store they want to test drive the auto they chose online, negotiate quickly, be part of the process, and have the entire sale transparent.

“We designed the Foursquare Anywhere products to address these issues and we particularly kept the needs of the vehicle sales person in mind,” said Gamel. He explained that prior to the development of Foursquare Anywhere, all customer offers were presented to management with pen and paper and then the long wait began. “With one of our products, a sales person can stay with the customer while communicating in real-time with the desk manager.”
