In July, 1st Family Dental, a family dental practice with 10 dental offices in and around Chicago Illinois and an office in Tulsa Oklahoma, partnered with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital to donate $10 for every child that comes in for their regular back-to-school dental check-up and cleaning at any of it’s 11 dental offices.
Since launching the initiative 1st Family Dental has been overwhelmed with the response and support from it’s new and existing patients. The initiative is simple, for every kid’s dental check-up and cleaning booked on or before August 31, 1st Family Dental is donating $10 on behalf of the child to St. Jude.
In the first 21 days of the initiative 1st Family Dental and it’s patients have raised over $21,000. With a couple more weeks to go, 1st Family Dental and it’s patients are almost half way to their goal of raising $50,000 for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

As a local family dental practice we’re always looking for ways to give back to our local communities, the many free dental care days we’ve hosted are a good example, but this initiative has us excited on a whole new level. 1st Family Dental is getting the entire family involved with weekly Twitter and Instagram contests that include giftcards and other prizes for those who want to share their good deed and challenge their friends and family to do the same. All they have to do is follow the dental office on Twitter and Instagram using the handle @1stFD.
For anyone interested in getting involved, 1st Family Dental is offering extended office hours and even weekend hours to accommodate busy schedules with kids going back to school. Book a kid’s dental check-up at any of 1st Family Dental’s 11 offices before August 31 to be part of the mission to raise $50,000 for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
