IndexBox MarketingIndexBox Marketing has just published a new report “World: Ball Or Roller Bearings – Market Report. Analysis and Forecast to 2020”

Germany continued to dominate in the global ball or roller bearing trade. In 2014, Germany exported 177 thousand tonnes of ball or roller bearings totaling 4,286 million USD, 1% over the previous year. Its primary trading partner was China, where it supplied 12% of its total ball or roller bearings exports in value terms, accounting for 25% of China’s total imports.

From 2007 to 2014, Germany was a net exporter of ball or roller bearings. Over the period under review, exports consistently exceeded imports in value terms. However, in physical terms, the difference was less pronounced due to high export prices.

China and Japan were among the other main global suppliers of ball or roller bearings in 2014. China was the fastest growing exporter from 2007 to 2014 (+13% per year), followed by the Netherlands (+5% per year).

In 2014, Germany’s top 5 trading partners were China, the U.S., Italy, France and Belgium, with a combined 38% share of German global ball or roller bearings trade exports. The share of China increased significantly (+6 percentage points), while the share of Belgium illustrated negative dynamics (-3 percentage points).
