Can a Google Maps for indoors save shopping malls?

IndoorAtlas has developed an indoor positioning system it is testing in a San Francisco shopping mall, as it seeks to compete in the tough arena of retailing and indoor navigation. As brick-and-mortar retailers experiment with different types of technologies to combat show-rooming and online shopping, it’s not clear yet whether technology is a help or a hindrance.
