TACOMA, Wash. - Sept. 1, 2015 - PRLog -- Associated Petroleum Products, Inc. (APP) was awarded with two top honors by the Washington State Patrol and Washington Trucking Association (WTA) on August 1, 2015 at the Tacoma Golf & Country Club in Tacoma, Washington. This is the second time they have achieved these two top honors, which were awarded in 2013.
The Common Carrier of the Year Grand Champion award was achieved with the 140 drivers employed at APP that in 2014 hauled 495,000,000 million gallons of fuel over 4,212,004 million miles. They accomplished this with having only three DOT and/or non-DOT accidents or incidents. This award is compared to all other trucking companies and fleets in the State of Washington regardless of size and based on safety performance.
The 2015 WTA Fleet Safety Award was based on the Category of 5 Million Miles or less for the private fleet division. The Washington State Patrol reviews the safety record for the fleet including safe miles, roadside inspections, overall compliance and providing a positive influence to the industry.
“Since both of these awards are decided by the Washington State Patrol and the Washington Trucking Association, it is truly an achievement our driving staff is proud about,” stated Luke Xitco, President CEO of APP. “Hauling petroleum over the road 24 hours per day, seven days per week, we are at risk every single day with a catastrophic event and safety practices are a top priority for our drivers,” Luke commented further.
