Hires Chefs with International Culinary Backgrounds; Latin America, Greece
Sept. 24, 2015 - PRLog -- Leading recreational culinary school, Cookology, announces that Chefs Tony Kavalieros and Kiesha Sellers have been added to its staff. With varying backgrounds and experience levels, the new chefs were hired in response to the company’s overall growth and development this year.

Chef Tony Kavalieros was born in Egypt, educated in Greece and completed his studies at The Braamfontein Restaurant and Hotel School in Johannesburg, South Africa. As an international restaurant consultant, Kavalieros has published two books, opened a culinary school in Athens and served as an advisor to restaurants all throughout Europe. He came to the U.S. in 2014.

Chef Kiesha Sellers spent most of her young life living intercontinentally between Latin America, Europe and Africa. She moved to the U.S. to attend Dartmouth College, and graduated with the first modified degree in the history of the school. Sellers decided against the Ivy League track and enrolled in culinary school. She went on to intern at Blair House, The President’s Guest House, where she later won the role of Executive Sous Chef in a cook-off.

The new chefs will expand and diversify current cooking class offerings, with Kavalieros focusing on more internationally informed courses and boot camps. They will also help with the company’s team building mobile unit and assist with developing its flagship professional culinary program.

“…Tony’s Greek background really allows him to express his passion and appreciation for the culture and beauty of cuisine… Kiesha’s creativity enables her to pull inspiration from all of the cultures she’s experienced and put it into food, which is absolutely amazing.” says Kopsidas. “It’s a total win-win and we’re very lucky and excited to have both of them!” she concludes.
