"The Real World of Fairy Tales" - a Literary Phenomenon of the 7th Dimension

 Written in first person, the Author is startled by a Ghost, who turns out to have lived in her apartment for hundreds of years. Instead of feeling scared, she is fascinated by the Ghost who would made himself known, as she never believed in Ghosts before. Lightheartedly and cheerful she encourages the Ghost to show himself, but the Ghost fears she'll be frightened. Curious in hoping to see a real Ghost, she assures him she won't be terrified, after which the Ghost makes himself visible. 

Delighted by his appearance and thrilled to finally see a real Ghost, she grants him his wish to help him, after he discloses he's been trying to find someone to help correct some of his fairy tales. His name is Fabel, the Good Ghost of Fairy Tales. Joyfully she takes his explanations of metaphors and allegories, hidden in the tales, to pen, the meaning of the number 7, the dwarves, their red hats, the magic mirror, as well as the Wisdom encoded in Rumpelstiltskin and other famous fairy tales, which were supposed to entertain children as well as adults.  As Fabel shares more insights to her about Ancient tales and spends time with her, the greater her admiration and respect for his knowledge. As a result, eventually falling in love with the Ghost, though fully aware she'll never be able to touch him. Her world flourishes into complete enchantment, remembering magical episodes of her childhood, while experiencing a blissful friendship with Fabel, until her rational mind takes hold of her. She begins to question her sanity, believing Fabel is nothing but a hallucination, due to her inability of making sense of the mysterious happenings and ultimately leading to a confrontation with Fabel.

Leagan E. Kasper's  The Real World of Fairytales is a suspenseful, inspiring and enlightening Novella for young and old, told in a refreshingly original new style, leaving the reader to speculate if, perhaps, it was an authentic experience revealed as a fictional tale. The encounter with the Ghost feels genuine, rather than a fabrication, specifically since the explanations and meanings of allegories and metaphors correspond to sound mind and levelheadedness, making one wonder why it hasn't been discovered previously, with children and adults having been cheated out of this hidden wisdom inside fairy tales for ages. 

With a feather soaked in magic ink, Kasper lures the reader into a world where dream and reality collide, with dream ultimately directing reality.
