Borolux Bakeware Offers Solution To Shattering Bakeware

Borolux Bakeware, a kitchen essentials company, has revealed that it can offer a solution to shattering glass bakeware. The people behind Borolux have expressed dismay with regards to the various reports of exploding and shattering bakeware. Thousands of complaints have now been received involving everyday glass bakeware products. A Borolux Bakeware representative explained that they always had concerns about other glass bakeware. This is why they use only borosilicate glass for their bakeware product line, which includes a 9x13 baking dish, a classic pie dish and other pieces.

"The reports of shattering glass bakeware are truly alarming," says the representative from Borolux Bakeware. "Imagine your dish shattering without warning. At best, this results in shock, ruined meals and hours of careful cleaning of broken glass. At worst, very serious injuries could be sustained. We really want to encourage people to use borosilicate glass bakeware instead to avoid these problems."

While some believe that these stories are nothing more than scaremongering, more and more reports of shattering bakeware are coming in. The Department of Consumer Affairs has started to take note as well. "A glass measuring cup just exploded inside my kitchen cabinet," says Karen of Bayonne, NJ. "It was last used 2 days prior. I mean this was a spontaneous explosion. Luckily nobody was injured. I just spent 3 hours washing the entire contents of the cabinet, removing shelves and trying to get rid of all the tiny pieces of glass. I will never use or buy another one of these products again."

Most common, everyday bakeware is made of soda-lime glass, which has been shown not to be actually suitable for withstanding thermal shock. Decades ago, the original formulation of the mainstream bakeware brands was borosilicate glass, but the formulation was changed, most likely for the purpose of reducing costs, and now tempered soda-lime glass is used and is the norm. As a result, however, this type of bakeware is no longer able to withstand thermal stress, which can lead to it shattering, even several days after it was last used.

Borolux Bakeware believes customer safety is more important than cost reduction. Reducing costs means compromising on quality and this has now been shown to be incredibly dangerous. This is why they created their shatter-proof bakeware products, made from a patented and original borosilicate glass formula.
