Avnet held its annual Avnet Technology Solutions Partner Summit, in Chandler, Ariz., November 9-12, 2015, at the Sheraton Wild Horse Pass Resort and Spa. This event brought together hundreds of Avnet's top partner and supplier executives who span the entire Avnet Technology Solutions, Americas’ line card, and dozens of industry leaders to share their perspectives on the evolving IT landscape. Highlights of this year’s event included compelling presentations from Guy Kawasaki, chief evangelist at Canva; Frank Gens, senior vice president and chief analyst for industry analyst firm IDC; and Haley Ercanbrack, adventurer and mountain climber.

Avnet made several key announcements in conjunction with its event, which included the following:

Avnet demonstrated its recently launched cloud marketplace at the Avnet Partner Summit. The Avnet Cloud Marketplace is a one-stop shop that offers comprehensive solutions from leading cloud service providers, flexible payment models and a powerful cloud management toolset. It provides partners with the ability to offer cloud-based services to their customers through both consumption- and subscription-based models and create branded storefronts to offer complete solutions to their customers. The Avnet Cloud Marketplace features cloud solutions from IBM and Amazon Web Services (AWS).

The Avnet Government Solutions team recently moved into its new office in the Washington, D.C. area. Partners will now benefit from Avnet Government Solutions’ new strategic location in Chantilly, Va., which is near the nexus of the U.S. federal government’s operations. This move will allow Avnet Government Solutions to better serve its federal, state, local and education partners, and continue to broaden their offerings for the public sector. Experts from Avnet Government Solutions shared insights with partners at the event on the key growth opportunities in the public sector.

Avnet launched an innovative, new training and enablement community – the Avnet Knowledge Network. This new community harnesses the power of Avnet’s industry-recognized solutions expertise to create a single source of solution and supplier sales information and training for Avnet’s partners in the U.S. and Canada. The Knowledge Network is a private community that provides Avnet partners with educational resources that empower them to sell more complex and multi-vendor solutions, expand their knowledge of vertical markets and technology solutions, and stay up to date on the latest industry news and information. Partners were able to demo Avnet’s Knowledge Network at the event.
