Molina Healthcare Selected for Medicaid Contract Awards in the Southwest Region of Washington

Molina Healthcare, Inc. (NYSE: MOH) today announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, Molina Healthcare of Washington, Inc., has been selected by the Washington State Health Care Authority (HCA) to negotiate and enter into managed care contracts for the Southwest region of the state’s Apple Health Fully Integrated Managed Care Program. The new contracts will allow Managed Care Organizations (MCOs) to provide the full continuum of behavioral and physical health services that are available to beneficiaries for the entire regional service area. Molina currently provides Medicaid physical health services throughout Washington State, including to beneficiaries in Clark and Skamania Counties composing the Southwest region. Molina Healthcare of Washington was selected by HCA pursuant to the request for proposal it had issued in August 2015. The start date for the new contract is scheduled for April 1, 2016.

“Molina has a long history of caring for Washington’s Medicaid members, including an eight-year partnership with HCA to provide fully integrated behavioral and physical health, and long-term care services to beneficiaries in Snohomish County. We are pleased to have been selected to provide integrated and expanded services in the Southwest Region,” said Peter Adler, president of Molina Healthcare of Washington. “We look forward to continuing our work with the Health Care Authority and the Washington provider community, as well as to furthering Molina’s mission of providing access to high-quality care for Medicaid beneficiaries.”

The new Apple Health Fully Integrated Managed Care program will combine physical and behavioral health services and will include a separate contract for behavioral health wraparound services, which has not traditionally been covered under Medicaid managed care.
