CHICAGO, Illinois – November 24, 2015 – We Just Are, an incredible, new apparel line to bring people together, was recently announced. They are a collection action for social change. We Just Are has a mission is to motivate people to see beyond labels. As a society, people have become more and more dependent on classifications, so people can put each other in boxes based on any number of characteristics. Many past and current trends for equality only highlight these boxes and push society further apart. Judgment should be based on character, not on a pre-determined stereotype of race, sexual orientation, religion, or any other label society places on people. They want people not only to find acceptance within themselves despite physical characteristics or lifestyle choices, but also be open to accepting others. We Just Are’s apparel represents their brand and wearing their brand spreads their message. Proceeds from apparel sales go toward researching and implementing initiatives to enact lasting social change community by community. Initiatives include coordination with like-minded social impact organizations to plan community events and programming. Initiatives are planned via data analysis and in-depth market research to enact community-specific strategies to increase success.
If they break the boxes and erase the labels, people can see each other through a new lens. They can stop hating an entire group of people with the same characteristic as one undesirable person. People can open their minds to the possibility of learning about what makes everyone different and realize that “We aren’t greater than each other. We aren’t lesser than each other. We Just Are.” However, before this apparel brand with a cause can stride, We Just Are needs help. That’s why they launched this Kickstarter campaign. The goal of this project is to raise $25,000 by December 18, 2015. The funds raised will go towards market research, scaling the apparel line, and their Chicago pilot program.
