Mo’s Heroes has joined #GivingTuesday December 1st, a global day of giving that harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities and organizations to encourage philanthropy and to celebrate generosity worldwide.
Through Giving Tuesday, Mo’s Heroes encourages donors like you to continue to help our U.S. veterans in need especially ahead of a holiday season of gifts and giving. We use this event to again put on the forefront the physical and emotional challenges our homeless veterans face during a cold holiday season.
Giving Tuesday in the U.S. usually follows Thursday’s Thanksgiving, and the consumer active events like Black Friday and Cyber Monday. However, on the next day, Tuesday, we remind people to also use their wallet for a really good cause and help homeless veterans, through Mo’s Heroes, get access to food support, housing assistance, clothing drives and employment opportunities.
Giving Tuesday is a great way to kick-off the holiday giving season and inspire people to collaborate in improving their local communities and to give back in impactful ways to charities and causes on which they want to make an impact.
According to Giving Tuesday campaign, since its inception in 2012, online giving on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving has increased more than four-fold. “We have been incredibly inspired by the generosity in time, efforts and ideas that have brought our concept for a worldwide movement into reality,” said Henry Timms, founder of Giving Tuesday.
