Market Update: Netflix Inc (NASDAQ:NFLX) – Netflix global push grabs more customers

[AAP] – Netflix Inc’s aggressive push into international Markets has won more customers than the video streaming service and its investors expected last quarter, sending its shares surging seven per cent. The dominant online video company on Tuesday said it had 74.8 million subscribers at the end of December and forecast 6.1 million more through March, fuelled by its expansion in January into virtually every country except China, where it is exploring ways to launch its service. Looking at today’s market, NFLX one day range is $105.55 to $110.14 with its 52-week range being $47.71 to $133.27. NFLX shares are currently priced at 495.43x this year’s forecasted earnings, which makes them relatively expensive compared to the industry’s -0.96x earnings multiple. Consensus earnings for the current quarter by the 36 sell-side analysts covering the stock is an estimate of $0.02 per share, which would be $0.08 worse than the year-ago quarter and a $0.00 sequential decrease. Investors should also note that the full-year EPS estimate of $0.21 is a $0.32 worse when compared to the previous year’s annual results. The quarterly earnings estimate is based on a consensus revenue forecast of the current quarter of $1.83 Billion. If realized, that would be a 23.65% increase over the year-ago quarter.
