A Guide To Take The Headache Out Of Music Distribution

Finding the best music distribution company can be a drag so we did it for you.
LOS ANGELES - Jan. 21, 2016 - PRLog -- Let me guess, you have the world's next greatest hit, but the man keeps holding you back? For years, I, David deCarlo, have heard time after time and rant after rant about how "they" are being held back by "haters" which don't allow them to make the proper 'moves' or 'connections' to succeed in The Music Industry ... After sitting back with a group of friends that are in the entertainment industry and discussing what helped some of them become successful and what ultimately hurt their chances of success, we came up with the following conclusion:

1. It takes some money to invest in yourself but not as much as you think.

Many artists believe that they need a small fortune for marketing, but the truth is that most artists already have the main tool that they will need to launch their successful music career: A Computer! Through the use of the internet, an artist may now promote themselves at a fraction of the cost that it used to be. Before, artists had to pay a street promo team, radio stations, TV stations and other venues and companies expensive fees, which artists basically can do without now. I'm not saying expensive ads on TV and radio play are not important; what I am saying is that you can launch a successful music career without those expensive marketing schemes. Basically, an artist now can take advantage of all the online social media sites available that are free. So, if you have enough money to record your song, then you have enough money to create a successful online social media marketing campaign and a successful music career.

2. Rule number one: Create as many profiles as possible on different social media websites.

Of course many have tried this and some may get it right, but most artists get it wrong. Besides simply making a Facebook, Twitter and Instagram account and asking people to 'support the movement,' an artist should be displaying his art and craft. An artist should use every social media website and app as a showroom floor for their display of music. An artist can give a brief description of music and what compelled the artist to write, create and/or produce the music, giving the listeners a better perspective of the song they are listening to, or they can display imagery through pictures and videos on multiple sites (not just on YouTube). The more websites you register to, the wider your exposure will be. Tumblr, for instance, has one of the highest PR rankings and is great for exposure. StumbleUpon is another high PR ranking website good for sharing music on. The websites we found the best for marketing music on are: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, StumbleUpon, Pinterest, Flipboard, Google Plus, YouTube, Vimeo and Google Blogger. If an artist creates a profile on each and every one of these sites and spends about 5 minutes a day updating posts and sharing their music link on each of these sites, then they will soon have enough content online that their music will start popping up on different search engines all over the world! Let me explain in more detail. If you googled your name right now, you may find a few links to your music on SoundCloud and your Facebook and Twitter page. However, if you took your time and created profiles on all of the above mentioned websites then you would have a long list of links to your music. Furthermore, when I mentioned above to give a brief description of the music that you are sharing, this helps the search engine to understand what the link is about and how to index the link (music). The more content that you place online, the larger your reach expands. For example, if you share a link to your song on iTunes with a caption that says 'Newest artist hitting the scene ripping the mic influenced by Tupac and Biggie,' then eventually when people search for Tupac or Biggie, a link to your song will begin to pop up.

3. Forget about iTunes; they don't pay as much and do not help promote your music. Try Music City, Inc.
