Nuclear War More Likely Unless West and Russia Talk

By: PRLog
Increasing tensions between Russia and the West are likely to lead to a deterioration of relations that could lead to an accidental nuclear exchange, says the Foreign Policy Summer School, a conference for future leaders in Foreign Policy.
LONDON - Jan. 25, 2016 - PRLog -- A spokesman for the Foreign Policy Summer School Conference, a leadership organisation that has partnerships with several high-level private stakeholder forums, said that “Unless the situation between Russia and the West is urgently stabilized and dialogue restarted, the present deteriorating situation risks moving closer to nuclear war.”

Russia sees NATO expansion and the European Missile defence shield as encirclement and the West sees Russia’s annexation of Crimea as territorial aggrandizement. But Russia considers the annexation as protecting its vital security interests.

With both the USA and Russia launching several ICBM Missile tests and Russia planning 16 more tests in 2016, as well as adding 40 more ICBMS to its arsenal, while America plans a trillion dollar overhaul of its entire nuclear arsenal and Moscow builds new nuclear bunkers, tensions are higher than the public would think, intimated the spokesperson.

The Foreign Policy Summer School issued a statement that they will be looking at the "New Cold War" in their 2016 leaders' conference and that they think “Russia knows that European countries are primarily motivated by the desire for peace in their foreign policy and that this is what these countries desire of their Russian neighbours. But human rights, the rule of law, the right of self determination of peoples and security guarantees are also important to Europeans. Russia could be invited to join the European family if it made headways in these directions. Keeping their bombers away from European airspace would be a good start as rebuilding trust is essential to those who want an international order of peace.”

The Foreign Policy Summer School Conference 2016 will be doing its part for international relations by bringing together future leaders from all over the world who are interested in international peace and diplomacy.
