LOS ANGELES, CA – 03 Feb, 2016 – Rhythmic Pop newcomer LEX is determined to takeover the music industry with the release of her first single, “Dedicated”. Born in Alaska, LEX has collaborated with two-time Grammy nominated producer/songwriter Drew “Druski” Scott (Zendaya, Teyana Taylor, Fantasia, Tori Kelly) for the sleek and sultry tune. “Dedicated” is the buzz single from Lex’s upcoming EP, Wildflower that will be released March 2016. Wildflower is Executive Produced by Druski, who served as executive producer for former Danity Kane/Dirty Money artist, Dawn Richard’s critically acclaimed Armor On (2011) and Goldenheart (2012) projects.
LEX is no stranger to the music industry. By 10, the Anchorage, Alaska teen won her first vocal competition for her rendition of Whitney Houston’s “I Have Nothing”. Lex started to gain popularity on the online video community YouTube for her renditions of classic Pop songs. At the age of 12, LEX moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in music, even a short stint in a girl group. By 13, LEX was working with Grammy Award winning songwriters and producers.
“It was like boot camp,” recalls LEX. “We were constantly rehearsing, vocal training, dancing, acting, recording, having photo shoots and attending red carpets. I truly believe that experience is what has prepared me for this moment. After the group disbanded I begged my mom to let us stay in LA. I couldn’t go home. Not after that. God wasn’t finished yet.”
One afternoon, LEX was in a photo shoot with photographer and Grammy Award winning songwriter Carla Carter (Janet Jackson, Usher, Keyshia Cole, Beyonce). Unbeknownst to LEX, Carla messaged her longtime musical partner Druski to tell him she discovered a “goldmine”. After sending a couple of test shots to Druski, he immediately arranged a meeting with her the following day.
“Carla said, ‘Drew, you have got to meet this girl I’m shooting. She’s tall, gorgeous and you won’t believe her age’,” says Druski. “I saw a couple of the test shots and once Carla told me she could sing I thought to myself, this is an opportunity to really create a superstar. We met within the next couple of days, she sang for me and it was a wrap.”
For the next two years LEX and Drew began developing her sound, Rhythmic Pop, which is a blend of dance, R&B and Pop. Influenced by artists such as Rihanna, Beyonce and Kendrick Lamar, LEX even provides a 16-bar verse on her new single, “Dedicated”.

Already being on the radars of labels such as Atlantic Records and RocNation, LEX is dedicated to take the industry by storm. However, the newcomer is not looking for any handouts.
“We’re not going to sign anything until it looks right on paper,” states LEX. “Until then, we are going to continue building from the ground up. I’m not in a rush to be signed to anyone. I want to sign a deal once and not regret it.”
