During the past year, readership of the website FingerLakesWine.info skyrocketed.

In January 2015 there were 3,350 visits and 6,500 page views.  One year later the total grew to 10,565 visits and 56,000 monthly page views.

The huge increase in readership is a testament to the value of information presented on the site.  As FingerLakesWine.info has added content, there is more and more valuable information for NY Finger Lakes wine drinkers.  Users are finding increasing value in the site, reflected in a nearly nine-fold increase in page views.

FingerLakesWine.info is the only website devoted exclusively to New York's Finger Lakes wine region.  Unlike publications such as the Wine Enthusiast or the Wine Spectator, FingerLakesWine.info does not take advertising, nor is it affiliated with any winery or the wine industry.  In addition, FingerLakesWine.info does not accept "sample" bottles of wine for review from wineries, unlike the previously mentioned publications.  The site purchases all the wines it reviews.

FingerLakesWine.info contains hundreds of wine reviews, as well as interviews with winemakers, opinion pieces, and analyses of Finger Lakes wine trends.  All of these reviews and articles are objective and unbiased, written by the creator of the site, Douglas Hillstrom.

Mr. Hillstrom has been tasting and evaluating wine for more than 30 years.  In the mid-1980's he joined the International Wine Center and was a member of its tasting group, which included Howard Goldberg of the NY Times and Mary Ewing-Mulligan, director.  Extensive travel in Europe, California, Oregon and New York broadened his knowledge of world wines, which was reflected in his web site 205Food.com.  Mr. Hillstrom has an advanced diploma (with distinction) from the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET).
