Lone Dragonfly Books Releases Book One of "The Planet Mechanic" Series

Baltimore publisher breaks the mold with a strong female protagonist.

Baltimore, MD - February 13, 2016 - (Newswire.com)

Lone Dragonfly Books, an independent book publisher, announced today that it has put into production The Planet Mechanic, book one of a three-part middle-grade science fiction series.

The Planet Mechanic, written by Dr. Aegon Fly, is the story of three children’s descent into the inner core of Earth in an attempt to fix a planet in peril. During their adventure, the children encounter a sabretooth tiger named Sabrina, an alien boy named Alfred, a star bug named Melvin, and discover that there’s more to the inner workings of the planet than meets the eye.

Originally conceived by family members and titled by his ten-year-old niece, The Planet Mechanic is a family effort for Dr. Aegon Fly. According to the author, “The three children in the book are based on my two nieces and my nephew. It was important for me that the book present the children in a positive light, and demonstrate that they can have significant impacts on the world we live in.” His nieces and nephew were involved throughout the creation of the story, and they often helped develop the plot, and served as the books first critics.

“It’s a great book for kids,” said Lone Dragonfly Books owner Geoffrey Hoesch, “Not only does it tell a fantastic story, it does so in a manner that promotes gender equality. More often than not, child protagonists are male, and we’re happy to produce a book that breaks that mold.”

The Planet Mechanic is available in digital formats on http://planetmechanicbook.com and print and Kindle formats on Amazon and many other sites, including Barnes and Noble. It is distributed by Ingram.
