Hearing Network Alliance Promoting Value of Hearing Care with White Paper and Session Track at Specialty Health Summit

By: PRLog
ATLANTA - April 5, 2016 - PRLog -- The Hearing Network Alliance (HNA), a member of the National Association of Specialty Health Organizations (NASHO), is launching a multi-pronged educational campaign just in time for Better Hearing and Speech Month (May) to promote the benefits of quality hearing care. Through distribution of a white paper that consolidates empirical data on the co-morbidities of hearing loss and by hosting a dedicated session track at NASHO's upcoming Annual Specialty Health Summit (May 1-3, Nashville), the Alliance aims to educate both the general public and the hearing care community on the vital role that hearing health plays in overall well-being and health management.

A multitude of medical research and studies have drawn clear lines between an individual's hearing health and his/her physical, mental and social well-being. Undiagnosed and untreated hearing loss can reverberate and manifest in slips and falls from balance issues, prolonged recovery from otherwise unrelated illnesses, social isolation and depression, exacerbation and/or early onset of dementia and unrealized earning potential. HNA has consolidated those findings into one white paper: Getting More than an Earful: The True Cost of Undiagnosed and Untreated Hearing Loss on Health-Related Quality of Life (HRQol). To view the paper, please visit here.

Additionally, the Alliance is putting the 2016 NASHO Annual Summit theme - Specialty Health: Voicing Our Value - into practice with a hearing care industry session track that covers the white paper content in addition to analysis of the current managed care marketplace and a roundtable with vision care industry participants to discuss effective marketing strategies.
