Attorney for Creditor, Lorenzo DeLuca, Announces Former Trump Architect to Auction Southampton Estate

Costas Kondylis known for Trump buildings to sell his Southampton home.

NEW YORK, NY - May 3, 2016 - (Newswire.com)

New York’s legendary Architect, Costas Kondylis, featured as a “Treasure of New York” on the eponymous PBS series will put his Southampton architectural gem the “Black Barn” up for auction on June 1, 2016.   Kondylis, a Greek immigrant, as much as any other contemporary designer, is responsible for the current Manhattan skyline.  Kondylis’ designs not only gave Donald Trump’s trademark projects their aura of wealth and grandeur but assisted Trump in his self-professed talent for building things on time and under budget.  Not content with endless repetition of his winning design formulas, Kondylis famously convinced Trump to abandon the signature gold colors in the development of the sleek all-black Trump World Tower. Some 80 other buildings designed by Kondylis now dot Manhattan island and virtually every other major New York developer has benefitted from the practical elegance of Kondylis’ designs.

In 2011 illness forced Kondylis to close his design firm and now unable to work he is forced to sell his personal masterpiece.  On June 1, 2016 his beloved Black Barn will be sold at auction to repay his creditors.  In the Black Barn Kondylis imposed his modernist sensibility upon a 19th Century potato storage barn.  The massive rolling barn doors conceal floor to ceiling windows that naturally light a soaring interior living space used to display his artworks, including his Italian sports car collection.  The sports cars are now gone but the 80 ft pool/spa, the apple orchard, the vineyard and the Kondylis design touch remain.
