LDK Solar Co. (NYSE: LDK) posted second quarter earnings that tripled to $1.29 per American Depositary Share from 45 cents per ADS a year earlier and raised its outlook for the current quarter. The China-based maker of solar wafers was promptly upgraded by analysts sending the stock price soaring $6.31 to $39.89.
