Via Licensing Appoints Roger Ross Vice President of Legal Affairs

Via Licensing Corporation announced today that Roger Ross has joined the company as Vice President of Legal Affairs. In this new position, Ross will manage the legal, compliance, and patent operations teams for Via Licensing. In addition, he will be responsible for overseeing the legal aspects of the creation and maintenance of patent pools and other intellectual property licensing programs.

Prior to joining Via Licensing, Ross was a partner in the Silicon Valley office of McDermott Will & Emery, where he focused on intellectual property transactions, including complex patent licensing transactions, and counseling regarding participation in standards setting organizations and patent pools. Ross has spent more than 15 years representing technology and media companies. He also served as the founding General Counsel of Liberate Technologies.

Ross holds a BS degree in information systems from the University of Colorado and a JD degree from the University of Kentucky College of Law.
