(Nasdaq: SNPS) reported third quarter earnings that more than doubled to 39 cents per share from 17 cents per share a year earlier, the electronic design automation software company forecast disappointing fourth quarter results prompting a downgrade. The stock price tumbled $2.71 to $21.43.
