Circuit City Stores Inc. (NYSE: CC) announced plans to shut down 155 underperforming stores or 20% of its U.S. locations as the second largest consumer electronics retailer in the U.S. struggled to return to profitability. The stock price leaped 13 cents to 39 cents.
