Although Microsemi Corp. (Nasdaq: MSCC) reported higher first quarter earnings of 16 cents per share compared with 11 cents per share in the year ago period, the chip maker forecast second quarter results well below analyst estimates. The stock price plummeted $2.21 to $8.16.
