The Chinese government launched its Golden Sun program to provide subsidies for solar projects. Shares of Yingli Green Energy Holding Co. Ltd. (NYSE: YGE) soared $1.58 to close at $12.98, Trina Solar (NYSE: TSL) climbed $2.55 to close at $28.95 and Suntech Power Holdings Co. Ltd. (NYSE: STP) gained $1.61 to close at $17.80.
