Markets Extend Gains At Midday

The markets extended its gains during the midday with the Dow leaping 236 points to 13,115 as more jobs than expected were added to the nation's economy last month. Nasdaq jumped 63 points to 2973.
On the upside
Motely Fool wrote that Clearwire (Nasdaq: CLWR) was a necessary alternative to cable and satellite providers.
Financial Times reported that Publicis may be exploring the possible acquisition of Interpublic Group (NYSE: IPG).
OpenTable (Nasdaq: OPEN) reported lower second quarter earnings but the results beat expectations.
On the downside
SandRidge Energy (NYSE: SD) reported sharply higher second quarter earnings that surpassed analyst expectations and lifted its full year production guidance but the stock price slipped. Zagg (Nasdaq: ZAG) reported higher second quarter earnings but the results missed estimates and the company forecast full year results below expectations.
Rosetta Genomics (Nasdaq: ROSG) priced its public offering of 5.5 million common shares at the discounted price of $5.00 per share.
In the broad market, advancing issues outpaced decliners by a margin of nearly 6 to 1 on the NYSE and by more than to 1 on Nasdaq. The Russell 2000 which tracks small cap stocks surged 20 points to 789.
